Reconciliation Celebration
Friday,
March 5 @ 7pm
Priceless!
The Prince Theatre
Foundation and the African American
Heritage Council
invite you to take part in a
Reconciliation Celebration to
acknowledge past
social inequities as they were
experienced at the Prince Theatre and to
honor the talents of our diverse
community.
During years of segregation, African
American citizens were made to use a
separate entrance and seating to watch
movies at the Prince Theatre. Through
the reconciliation of these injustices
and the celebration of our unity,
this event will provide impetus for us
to join together to create a stronger
community.
During the celebration portion of the
event, community members will be
invited to take the stage to share
talents to help commemorate the evening.
For more information please contact

Picasso
at the Lapin Agile
By
Steve Martin
Directed by Mark Sullivan
Thursday, March 25
@ 8pm
Friday, March 26 @ 8pm
Saturday, March 27 @ 8pm
Sunday, March 28 @ 3pm
Tickets: $15
Picasso at the
Lapin Agile begins: "A bar in Paris,
1904. One year later, Albert Einstein
published the special theory of
relativity. Three years later, Pablo
Picasso painted Les Demoiselles
d'Avignon."
Did Albert Einstein and Pablo Picasso
share an evening at a notorious artists'
hangout in Paris in 1904, mere moments
before they each left their indelible
marks on the 20th century? Is there a
market for paintings of sheep? What do a
great artist and a great physicist have
in common? Is there such a thing as
Schmendimite? What is the nature of
genius?
These and other questions are pondered,
and many laughs are had along the way in
Picasso at the Lapin Agile.
Cast in order of
appearance:
Freddy – Jim Landskroener
Gaston – Steve Arnold
Germaine – Diane Landskroener
Einstein – Wade Garrett
Suzanne – Melissa McGlynn
Sagot – Jen Friedman
Picasso – John Mann
Schmendiman – Kees de Mooy
Countess – Heather Oland
Female Admirer – Suzanne Einstein
A Visitor – Bill Arrowood
"[Picasso at the Lapin Agile] succeeds
in being low-comedy funny while also
suggesting that a great scientist and a
great artist share a rarefied sense of
beauty; they're both governed by
esthetic laws that, though not easily
proved, are innate in minds of genius."
-- NY Times
"Sometimes the future is handed to you
so casually, you could miss it." --
Einstein, in Picasso at the Lapin
Agile
Dinner and a
show! Stop in at the Imperial
Hotel for a special dinner

 Boys Next Door
by
Tom Griffin
Directed by Anita Tecce
Friday, April 30 @ 8pm
Saturday, May 1 @ 8pm
Sunday, May 2 @ 3pm
Tickets:
$15
An Off-Broadway
success, this very funny yet very
touching play focuses on the lives of
four developmentally challenged men who live in a communal
residence under the watchful eye of a
sincere, but increasingly despairing,
social worker. Filled with humor, the
play is also marked by the compassion
and understanding with which it peers
into the half-lit world of its
handicapped protagonists.
"THE BOYS NEXT
DOOR is one of the most unusual…and one
of the most rewarding plays in town." —BackStage.
"Griffin's play hits squarely on the
truth of life with its constant
interplays and shadings of triumphs and
tears." —NY Daily News.
"THE BOYS NEXT
DOOR moves the audience to an awareness
of how many things in everyday life we
take for granted…" —NY Times. |

"The Real Dirt on Farmer John"
Film and discussion
Thursday, June 3 @ 7pm
Presented by The Chestertown Spy
Marty Fujita Film Project
$10
suggested donation
A benefit for
Colchester Farm CSA .Discussion to
follow the film.
For close to a
century, a great American epic has been
played out in the tiny town of
Caledonia, Illinois, about 75 miles west
of Chicago. THE REAL DIRT ON FARMER
JOHN tells the story of one man, his
farm and his family—a story that
parallels the history of American
farming. But Farmer John is no laconic,
Grant Wood-type with a scowl and a
pitchfork. Equal parts performance
artist, writer and farmer, John Peterson
has been known to switch out of his
overalls into leopard latex or a
purple-feathered boa.
In the early
1900s, Peterson’s grandfather purchased
and began to farm some acreage west of
Chicago. The family tradition continued:
Peterson’s father farmed the same land,
as did Peterson, after his father’s
death. Then came the 1970s. As a student
at nearby Beloit College, Peterson was
exposed to the era’s wildly accelerating
cultural changes which fed his artistic
inclinations. His new student friends
flooded the farm with a riot of art,
freedom and rock and roll, creating an
art commune in the heart of conformist
Midwestern America. Filmmaker Taggart
Siegel was one of these friends. As he
explains, “In 1979, John invited me out
to the farm and a whole new world opened
up. It was very powerful. I was a
painter and I wanted to explore making
films on the farm, and John just let
everyone express themselves. It was the
total fusion of a real working farm and
an artistic community, a melding of
traditional and unorthodox ways.”
